As authors we have no control over the price of our books. But with that said, there is very good news regarding the 6th edition: Pearson has created many new options to access the textbook, including a rental option for $10.99 per month. See the latest options here in the Pearson store.
Before you purchase, be sure to find out from your instructor whether you will be using MyLab for online homework, practice tests, and other resources. Also consider whether you would prefer an ebook or a harcopy for yourself.
With MyLab or Without?
Both in terms of value and your learning experience, the best option is to purchase the textbook with MyLab Finance, which provides online exercises, tools, videos, spreadsheets, practice tests, worked examples and other enhancements. Note that:
- You must purchase a MyLab version of the text if your professor will be using it to assign online homework.
- You can only use the resources within MyLab (such as the practice tests) if your instructor has created a MyLab course id.
So check your syllabus beforehand to determine if the MyLab option is right for you.
MyFinanceLab + Textbook Purchase Options
- MyLab Finance + ebook + all online resources can be purchased for immediate access on the Pearson website for $109.
- Check your course website or syllabus for the correct MyLab course id or link.
- If you need the 5th (rather than 6th) edition, use this link.
- Highly recommended: An additional Print Copy of the book is available as an in-app purchase within MyLab for offline use.
- Your bookstore may also carry access cards for purchase of MyLab + ebook, or MyLab + ebook + print upgrade.
Standalone Textbook Purchase Options
The following options are for the non-interactive text only, without links to MyLab Finance, practice tests, nor online homework.
- Hardback Format
- You can rent the hardback textbook from the Pearson website for $74.99. It may also be available for rent in your campus bookstore. While the standard rental is for one semester, you may keep it permanently for an additional fee.
- Paperback Global Edition
- You can purchase a paperback Global edition here (note: the global edition has different end-of-chapter exercises than the U.S. version).
- Loose-leaf Format
- A convenient loose-leaf format is also available, which allows easy offline use of individual chapters or sections.
- Pearson Ebook
- Pearson has created an interactive ebook option which includes video solutions, embedded finance tools and data access.
- For offline convenience, you may also purchase a companion print upgrade.
- VitalSource Etext
- If you prefer a static “pdf-style” etext in the same format as the hardcopy textbook, you may purchase it from VitalSource. (Note: this option does not include a print upgrade nor integration with MyLab Finance.)
Note: The U.S. Sixth Edition textbook is not currently available through online retailers such as Amazon. (If you do see the text advertised, be careful that it is actually the right text.) The above direct purchase methods are the most reliable and cost effective sources.
